Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how QuickChef (https://www.quickchef.in), collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website and application (the "Service"). This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
By using QuickChef, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1.Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Your email address and login credentials, when you sign up or log in.
- Usage data: The ingredients and dietary preferences you enter to generate recipes and recipes you choose to save.
- Payment information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not collect or store your card, UPI or bank details - Razorpay handles this directly.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and general usage logs, collected automatically for security and performance purposes (e.g., rate limiting).
- Marketing preferences (optional): Whether you have chosen to receive marketing messages, the date you gave or withdrew consent and your mobile number, if you choose to provide it. See Section 3.
2.How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate recipes based on the ingredients and preferences you provide
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Send you transactional emails (e.g., login links, payment confirmations, account notices)
- Maintain the security and reliability of the Service (e.g., preventing abuse of our systems)
- Improve and troubleshoot the Service
- Send you recipe ideas, tips and offers by email and WhatsApp, only if you have opted in (see Section 3)
3.Marketing Communications (Optional)
When you sign in or visit your Account page, you can choose to receive recipe ideas, tips and offers from QuickChef by email and WhatsApp. This is entirely optional: the option is unticked by default and not opting in has no effect on your subscription or your use of QuickChef.
If you opt in, we store:
- your choice (opted in or not) and the date you gave or withdrew consent; and
- your mobile number, if you provide it, which we use only to send you WhatsApp messages.
We send these messages using trusted service providers. We do not sell your email address or mobile number, or share them with anyone for their own marketing.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by unticking the option under Account → Marketing preferences, by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by writing to us at info@quickchef.in. When you withdraw, we stop sending marketing messages and delete your mobile number. We keep only a record of when you consented and withdrew, as proof of your choice.
Withdrawing consent does not affect service messages about your account, subscription, payments and renewals, which we send so we can provide the Service you signed up for.
4.How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate QuickChef.
We plan to add Google Analytics in the future for website usage analytics, as described in Section 8. Once enabled, Google will also process limited technical data (such as IP address and browsing behavior) on our behalf.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes beyond providing their service to us.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation or a valid legal request.
5.Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted infrastructure provided by our service providers. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6.Data Retention
We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (e.g., transaction records) for legal or accounting purposes.
7.Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing, where applicable
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@quickchef.in
8.Cookies and Analytics
We currently use essential cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in and ensure the Service functions properly.
We plan to use Google Analytics in the future to understand how visitors use QuickChef (e.g., pages viewed, general usage patterns), which helps us improve the Service. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect information such as your IP address, device type and browsing behavior on our site. When this is enabled, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly and where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You will be able to control or opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings or any cookie consent tool we implement.
We do not currently use cookies for third-party advertising.
9.Children's Privacy
QuickChef is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
